Dr. Kim Harlan
Dr. Kim Harlan grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois where her compassion and love of animals began fairly early in life. Growing up, Kim faced a few medical hardships, but a special dog named Dulcie and the pets she helped while working as a kennel assistant as a teenager sparked her interest in veterinary medicine. Working with the pets there, she quickly noticed she had a special interest in geriatric care and neurology, as well as physical rehabilitation.
After high school, Dr. Harlan attended the University of Illinois Urbana- Champaign where she received her Bachelors in Animal Science in 2017 and later graduated from UIUC College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the Lakeview family in spring of 2022 and we couldn't be more excited to have her!
"Working as a kennel assistant at 16, there was special moment with a geriatric dog that wasn’t able to walk. One week after me starting to provide exercises/massages, he was able to run, and that moment was so special to me, and really pushed me to pursue my passion of veterinary medicine. I am excited to help our clients maintain the human-animal bond and I am looking forward to creating trusting relationships with our clients and patients.”
